Mary Kirk Hillyard, a native
of Coronado, California, graduated from San Diego State
University in 1972. After working in the medical education
field, she attended the University of California, Hastings
School of law, from which she graduated in 1979. She was
admitted to the California State Bar and Northern District
of the Federal Court in 1980.
Ms. Hillyard began her legal
career in 1981 when she joined the firm of Glaspy & Glaspy.
She became a partner there in 1988. before leaving in 1993
to become the resident partner of the San Francisco office
of Prindle, Decker & Amaro LLP.
Initally, her practice involved
a broad range of casualty defense litigation including
product liability, premises liability, toxic tort, construction
defect and personal injury. She currently specializes in
product and premises liability, with an emphasis in asbestos
and pharmaceutical litigation.
Ms. Hillyard is a member of
the California and San Francisco County Bar Associations.
the Defense Research Institute and the Association of Northern
California Defense Counsel.
